Sustainable choices
We only print on Forest Stewardship Council (FSC®) board, we use UK based paper suppliers who source products from UK & European paper mills, they are working hard to adapt to modern techniques to invent paper that is more eco-friendly, sustainable and more energy efficient.
One of our main printers has been awarded the ‘Environmental Company of the Year Award’. They are continually producing products in a responsible way by saving energy and working more efficiently in their processes. Our other printers are all environmentally concious and share our ambitious plans to make their print and processes as kind to our planet as possible.
Our fulfilment centre is run from a Leicestershire based farm, where we receive orders from both trade customers and the public, we process all parts of the business from here, employing local people.
By using these UK based suppliers and employing people locally to our business premises we can reduce our carbon footprint.
Recycling
Our cards and wrapping paper can be recycled. Cards with foiling can be recycled provided the foil covers no more than 25% of the card, which applies to all of our cards. Please remove any embellishments before recycling.
In our office/fulfilment centre we recycle as much as we can, we reuse boxes and packaging and are concious to separate any waste into appropriate recycling. We dispatch our orders in suitably sized packages with appropriate protection for minimum waste.
Reducing our use of plastic
We offer our stockists a choice of cards in cellophane or with paper klasps, paper belly bands or simply nested. Sleeves for protection just doesn’t sit well with us but some of our stockists have struggled to make the transition so we use recyclable sleeves to minimise waste. We made the decision in 2020 to stop sending our cards to the public in cellophane sleeves so they are now ‘naked’- where possible. This will reduce use of these plastic sleeves by hundreds of thousands per year.
Providing best for our planet options
All of our products are printed in the UK on Forest Stewardship Council (FSC®) board. The carbon footprint of our products is really low too, printed in the UK, delivered to our own warehouse and from there shipped either to our stockists or directly to the customer. However, some of our products are a little kinder to the environment than others. Our digitally printed ranges produce less waste, the process of digital print also produces less waste with eco friendly toners and no printing plates. So be confident when buying from us that our products are sustainable but look out for our kindest options.
